thinking of buying a truck. Is actually more profitable to own a 26ft truck or tractor truck? would love to hear from someone who owned both?

Tractors are like over $100K minus a trailer. Box trucks are much cheaper, lower maintenance costs.

Maybe you should get your licenses and some driving experience first and THEN think about buying a truck of your own. Being an Owner/Operator in a commercial trucking business isn't what it used to be. It's a lot of hard work, a lot of time away from home, and there are weeks when you will actually see a NEGATIVE profit when your truck needs maintenance or you can't find enough loads to pay the bills.

The profitability of either is completely dependent on how you're using it to generate profit. We don't know your work situation, so we can't tell you which would be better for you.

It all depends on what your wanting to do with it.
