For the same mass (i.e. same number of molecules), explain why CO2 has a higher volume than dry ice.?

In gaseous CO₂, the spaces between CO₂ molecules are very large. In dry ice (solid CO₂), the CO₂ molecules are well arranged in pattern and the spaces between them is small. Hence, CO₂ gas has a larger volume than dry ice.
