Fluent speakers of English, could you help me with my English?

I have to translate information for ferry passengers. I am not sure if this sounds professional (in terms of style and grammar) as I'm not an English speaker:

Please read carefully the emergency instruction notices which are posted in the ferry cabins and in the public areas and which explain the use of lifejackets and indicate the nearest emergency exists.

The sentence is too long. It would be better to make two sentences, especially if it's a public announcement. That would make it simpler. Try this:

"...areas. They explain the use of life jackets and indicate the nearest emergency exits." Note that you wrote "exists" which is a verb. What you mean is EXITS. Also "life jackets" is two words, not "lifejackets".

EMERGENCY INSTRUCTIONS are posted in each cabin and in the public areas. They explain how to use life jackets and show where the emergency exits are. PLEASE READ THEM carefully. In the event of an emergency, they may save your life.

Please read the emergency instruction notices that are posted in the ferry cabins and in the public areas. The use of lifejackets and directions to the nearest emergency exits are explained there.
