英文代名詞(慎入 問題多)?

1. 這邊不能加it嗎?為什麼?
當然不行. 句子的主詞 "The budget meeting"已經很明顯了.再加上it就重複了.
要是要強調主詞,要用itself,而不能用it.

是甚麼文法?

2. 這句為什麼可以直接 接the perfect place 不用加Be動詞嗎 (is)
名詞子句之中:

you (主詞) will find (動詞) our hotel (受詞) the perfect place for your contention (受補)

很標準+正確的文法.加上你建議的is就大錯特錯了.

3. 這邊的its是指中國航空公司嗎?可不可以換成their?
不是指中國航空公司.而是指"中華"航空公司.

當然不行換成 their.因為 ,China Airlines has to的has已經很明顯地指出整體單數的意圖了.所以要用its而不用their.

4. 可以直接寫ours嗎?
當上下文明顯的狀況下 是可以的.
但是為了避免 誤會,窗戶 應該 與窗戶比較 those/that of 是會常常被用到的.

5. those能去掉嗎?
不能.

前者是單數 後者是複數

現在要增加一個句意 – 行容會議因財務經理缺席而取消 –
was canceled because of our financial manager’s absence – 這段
話 + which (針對特定事 -- 會議 -- 之關係代名詞)
就變成 which was canceled because of our financial manager’s
Absence，因為不存在並不影響句意表達 – 該子句前後均用
逗號與主句區隔，意味非絕對需要。文法學家便稱這是非限
定關係句。到此為止你覺得有需要 + it在母語人士認為已是
很清楚的句子上嗎?

A4. 沒錯 bigger than ours 用的很普遍，但那多是單一名詞的比
較，且即使是單一名詞的比較，都有部分語言學者認為該
避免，在此例更是由of連接兩個名詞中其中一個的比較，用

our (對應their) house，清楚不生混淆。若直接寫bigger
than ours – 那代名詞ours 意思會有點不清 – 最起碼在考

答：不可加it. 原句使用的是補充說明（補述）句型，即原句是要說The budget meeting needs to be held soon，筆者想對該meeting多做些說明，於是在要補述的名詞後加兩逗點，在兩逗點間加入補充說明文字。是補述句型，不可再多加it，如加入，將破壞句型規定結構，造成錯誤。

這句為什麼可以直接 接the perfect place 不用加Be動詞嗎 (is)
答：本句是由We sincerely hope that you will find our hotel ( to be) the perfect place for your contention 省略to be 而來。
而加is也是正確，是不同於前述句型的表達方式，是省略that 而來， We sincerely hope that you will find (that) our hotel (is) the perfect place for your contention, 此被省略的that是用來引導後面的名詞子句” our hotel is the perfect place for your contention”，只是整個句子前面已有hope that, 句子後面再一個find that, 太多相同的句型表現出現在同一句中，並不是很好的表達方法，還是使用 find to be來表達, 省去that的重複使用，較合宜。
而為什麼 find ……to be, 不是find ……is, 除前面講的 find that…..句型，是省去that，而形成find …..is 的情況外，不使用that+名詞子句的句型時，就不能寫成 find something is…. 因find 和be 動詞，均是動詞，依文法規定兩個動詞不能在敘述中相接續，兩動詞中間必須有介係詞to字，動詞前面有to, 依文法to後緊接之動詞必須使用原形動詞，而is , are等be動詞之原形即是be，也就成了 find ….. to be的句式。

答：不可改為their,因it 是指China Airlines 這1家航空公司，如使用their，是在指公司的全體員工，與原句的意思不符。

甚麼情況一定要用that of 或是 those of
答：可以改為ours. 而究使用 that 或those? 就看它所代表的事物之單複數而定，前面之windows 是複數形，就必須使用those.

The words I wrote are more beautiful than (those) Mary did
those能去掉嗎?
可以去掉，但有those，可使文字意思更清楚。
但另有一點，that除用在單數，也可用於複數，就看為文者要如何表達，如將that用做是"指稱代名詞"（those 即是指稱代名詞）意"那個"，就只用於單數名稱，如that是被使用做一般代名詞，則是單複數均可用。

the price of cigarettes 之price必須是複數形，因它是多種香煙之價格，而the cigarette prices之cigarette也應使用複數，因此處的cigarette是名詞，非形容詞，後面之price既是複數，即表示多種香煙之價格，故cigarette應使用複數，也可寫成the cigarettes’ prices，使用所有格的句式。

兩種表達法均正確，前一種是較正規的寫法，有一種情況會在同一段文句中同時使用此兩種表達方式，就是兩種其中一種寫法，一直重複出現時，其中部分表達會改用另一種，以免讓人感覺，文字表達呆板，無變化，此對寫作言，是不佳的。
