Pain during root canal process?

I started root canal treatment today. It's been a couple hours and the tooth is beginning to hurt again so I've taken painkillers. But my next appointment is in a month so I'm just worried that if this pain continues over this month in between appointments shall I keep on having 2 paracetamols per day or re-book an emergency appointment? Is the pain still normal to occur during this treatment.

I'm 17 yrs old, male, if that's any use.
