Paul, in Ephesians, talks about the foundation that is Christ and the building materials used on it: wood, hay, stubble or ...?

gold silver, and precious Stones. The man who refused to work will be saved by fire. In the gospel Jesus says that the unfruitful vine will be plucked out and burned. How are the two reconciled?

In order to begin the process of Salvation you have to confess publicly with your mouth that you are on Jesus Christ side and to tell some people about the gospel the Bible says that if you will believe in your heart in the Lord Jesus and confess it with your mouth then you will be saved.

Once you do that you have one little piece of fruit in the basket. And you are in Jesus Christ recovery program. You will be resurrected until with 1000 year rule by Jesus Christ on planet Earth and to help restore it to Paradise

If you never believe in your heart and confess one time the Lord Jesus with your mouth then you have zero fruit in the basket and you're not in Jesus Christ recovery program that's as simple as I can put it.

When Paul talks about escaping as if you were escaping from a fire that means you get Resurrected and have to start from Ground Zero. Like their bones naked in kindergarten!

Not very dignified for a grown man!

The refiner’s fire symbolises the holiness and burning judgment of Christ Jesus when He returns at His second coming. If we have not built on the foundation that is Christ, our works will perish. However, that does not mean that the believer will perish. Instead, after the fire has burned away all that is futile, the believer will be all the better for it.

In John 15 Jesus uses the relationship of branches to the vine to illustrate our relationship to Him: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine dresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. . . . If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned” (verses 1–2, 6).

By destroying the unfruitful branches, the vine will grow to be strong and fruitful. That's why we have to abide in Christ, so that we will be productive and bear fruit. Anyway, that's what I get from comparing the two illustrations. Hopefully, others may shed more light on this. Interesting question.

The fact of the matter: The od, silver, and precious Stones are the true believers of God or God chosen, the wood, hay, and stubble are all of the unsaved saved, or unbelievers of God, who are in the kingdom of Satan. We are saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior only, read Ephesians 2:8 read Galatians 5:17-23 read Romans 6:23 read James 3:6-8 read Hebrews 4:12 read Romans 10:17 read Amos 8:11 read 2 Corinthians 3:14 read 2 Corinthians 4:4 read 1 John 2:11 read Ephesians 4:18 read Isaiah 57:15 read Jeremiah 36:1-19 read Jeremiah 36:32

It's not Ephesians.

1Cor 3:11 For no one can lay any other foundation than that which has been laid, which is Jesus Christ. 3:12 But if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or stubble; 3:13 each man’s work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man’s work is. 3:14 If any man’s work remains which he built on it, he will receive a reward. 3:15 If any man’s work is burned, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, but as through fire.

The context in this chapter is conversion of others to Christianity ("man's work" is the "convert"). Some teachers are thorough in their teaching and it takes a permanent hold of the convert. Some aren't, and as Jesus taught, "When the sun had risen, they were scorched. Because they had no root, they withered away" (Mt 13:6). Paul's point is that if one's converts fall away, of course he'll be disappointed and discouraged, but his own salvation won't be affected. A person who survives a fire may be singed and even have a bad cough, but they are still living.

You are trying to mix two parables that are not related, and there is nothing about "refusing to work". "Unfruitful" that Jesus is speaking of relates to being unfaithful (Jn 15:6), not one's converts.
