Let n be the number of green beads.

P(A yellow bead is selected) = 2 / 5
(Number of yellow beads) / (Total number of beads) = 2 / 5
6 / (6 + n) = 2 / 5
2 * (6 + n) = 5 * 6
12 + 2n = 30
2n = 18
n = 9
Number of green beads = 9

====
Check :
P(A yellow bead is selected) = 6 / (6 + 9) = 6 / 15 = 2 / 5

The probability of picking a yellow bead is 2/5 so that means 2/5 of the total beads are yellow and the rest are green.

Let x be the total number of beads:
(2/5)x = 6
x = 6 * 5/2
x = 30/2
x = 15

So if there are 15 beads where 6 are yellow, the remaining 9 must be green.
15 - 6 = 9

Answer:
9 green beads

With ratios, add them together to find the total number of parts:

eg 2/5 means there are 2 + 5 = 7 parts

if 2 parts = 6 beads, 1 part must be 3 beads

5 parts must be 5 x 3 = 15 green beads

6 x 5/2=15 total beads. 15-6=9 green beads

Cut the yellow beads in half to 3. Now instead of 2/5, you have 1/5 or (20%). To get 100%, multiply 20% (3 beads) by 5 and you get 15. You have 15 beads total, but 6 of them are yellow. So to find out how many green beads you have, subtract the total amount of beads by the yellow beads. (15 - 6 = 9).

The answer is 9 green beads.

For every 2 yellow beads there are 3 green beads (five beads total). 2x3=6 yellow beads and 3x3=9 green beads. 15 total beads. 6/15=2/5

6/(6 + G) = 2/5

so, 30 = 2(6 + G)

=> 2G + 12 = 30

i.e. 2G = 18

=> G = 9

Hence, 9 green and 6 yellow beads are in the bag
