Just because the jet stream heads south over the central and eastern portions of North America does not mean that there is global cooling. Remember that the air currents have to eventually loop back north, carrying warmer air back toward the poles. Otherwise, there would be a vacuum at the North Pole and Santa would suffocate.

As we saw a few years ago, the record setting cold, is all part of Global warming. Which is true to a point, we have had the most stable weather in the earths history during our infestation of this planet. In geological terms, it's been a wink of an eye. This extremes on both ends, are actually closer to the normal climate of this planet. It is the natrual cycle and there is no way in hell that we will ever stop or control it. Mother nature always wins. The question of how much of an impact is from us will always be asked, the actual answer may never be known.
