Im 22 year, i have my credit card since 18 years recently i
receive in mail offer from my bank. My bank recommand increase my limit 7500$.
Now, i have 2500$ + sold not cleared 1300$ difficult paying. I pay the minimum every month, 7 year clear this sold with the minimum only.
I am on welfare since november because problem with job.
Increase credit is not good? My friend says look me i have 50k on my credit is better than you.
But my friend i have big debt in many credit card. Sometimes pay his sold with another card.
Increase the limit of credit card is better?

stay away from credit cards............I believe in living within your means.......................if I aint got it.......I wont spend it lol

Your credit limit is a maximum amount that you may spend. It is NOT a target. You spend what you can afford to repay. What your limit is has nothing to do with it.

Because you have credit avail DOES NOT mean you should spend it. You are probably paying over 20% interest on the balance. Would you be okay paying 20% more for everything you buy? You are doing that. That is very stupid.

The increase in credit availability is "good" because it lowers your debt-to-available-credit ratio. There is nothing that says you have to spend more (and you should not). But for a REAL emergency (you need to fly to see your dying relative, or there is NO heat or food in the house) that extra limit could be a lifesaver. DO keep paying at least the minimum to keep your credit in decent shape.

Your friend is giving bad advice. Increasing the limit will end up getting you into worse financial trouble.

if your current balance is $1300 which you find hard to pay the minimum each months, increasing your limit might mean a small minimum if you don't increase your balance(ie not use the limit)
