Why do so many people hate the Charlie and the Chocolate factory remake?

Just wait till a third remake comes out and then, everyone would begin to regret hating on the second movie.

Many adults do't like to see kids movies but I am sure kids did not hate it. Children should be the critics for the G rated movies not adults.

*Nostalgic love towards the first film.
*Most prefer the original songs than the remake songs
*The subplot about Wonka's father seemed unnecessary.

It's weird, I'm thinking I would have enjoyed it more if it was still back in my drinking/drugging days. The original is much better in my opinion.
