(83.8/5) = 16.76 secs.
Height of cannon = 1/2 (t^2 x g) = 1,361.65 metres.

Poorly worded. I assume it hits the ground after that 83.8 meters ?

it takes how long to travel that distance? 83.8 m / 5 m/s = 16.7 s
how high would a rock be if it took that long to hit the ground when dropped?
h = ½gt²
h = ½9.8•16.7² = 1376 meters

PS, it's cannon, and m/s

I wished I could be high
