What does mercy mean to you?

Compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one's power to punish or harm.

It also means that I can't act like a (Richard) anymore, as my wife might say.

Kindness, that you don't deserve.

"Blessed are the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy;" "mercy is as mercy does;" "mercy is the flame of Love, forgiveness from above."

Mercy is lovingkindness, an opportunity within justice, for a grateful one to make exceeding progress.
