No! But I don't mind letting them think it is!Additional: As a former foster parent, I can tell you that becoming a babysitter for a foster child requires being fingerprinted for a background check and possibly CPR classes. (other states may vary on this)
For a non-foster child, I think the CPR training would be a big plus along with references from adults that can vouch for your capabilities.

Not technically but I don't think that many parents would choose a male over a female to take care of their kids.

Of course not. Babysitting is a job for the qualified, male or female.

No! Most of the men I know I think could take care of the kids better then the woman I know and it always seemed having the extra father figure in the kids life's maid them a better person.

No. Men can be good baby sitters too. I'd just watch out for that one 45 year old man who seems a little too interested in the smaller children.
