A) A polynomial with degree n has n roots. What is the degree of this polynomial?

B) It's a quadratic. Use the quadratic formula, which you should have learned in Algebra 1.

x = [-b +- sqrt(b^2 - 4ac) ] / 2a

a = 2, b = 4, c = 7. Plug them in.

You will find that b^2 - 4ac is negative, so you're taking the square root of a negative number, so the roots are complex.
