ill try and keep this short. i travel to the UK in 6 days.

i am a UK Citizen living in the US with a valid green card.

this week my wife lost my Social Security card, Green Card and Passport.

is it possible for me to return to the UK without a passport? the only identification i have is my UK driving license, US driving licence and my birth certificate.

once i am in the UK i will apply for a new passport so i can reenter the US.

You cannot board an aircraft without your currently valid passport. You cannot return to US without your currently valid green card.

Why did your wife sabotage you like this? She has Hidden Agendas here. You do not "lose" your spouse's (or child's) critical documents like passport a week before a trip. Why doesn't she want you to go to UK? Why did she have access to your documents to begin with? Something smells like dead fish here. You probably have a bigger problem than replacing all your lost documents as replacing your green card can easily take 6-9 months these days. Find out where your wife's head is at. And meanwhile, have her search for those "lost" documents. If replacement costs have to come out of her pocket, not yours, she might have a little more incentive to "find" them.

Consider this - either your wife has Hidden Agendas for controlling YOUR documents, then losing them, or else she's a complete nitwit.

No airline will allow you to board an international flight without a passport. You will not be able to re-enter the US without your greencard. You will not get emergency documents for a holiday.

You have exactly two choices;

1. Sit down calmly with your wife and work out where she put your precious documents. Start with 'where did we last see them'. The fact that all of them are lost suggests they are together somewhere. Find them.

or:

2. Cancel your trip and start replacing your documents. You can replace your passport from the US, they send send them by recorded delivery from the UK. Takes a couple of weeks. You may need a police report, check that first. Replacing your greencard will be expensive. Replacing your social security card and British birth certificate are trivial, both can be done on line.

In theory....
any UK citizen who can prove they are one.... can return and enter the UK
preferably on an expired UK passport...

however, getting an Airline to let you go there... way bigger issue

Getting a replacement for a lost UK passport..
there is an automatic 1 week delay from reporting it before replacement can be issued
and you will need some other proof's which of they are back home in US.....

And that does not address the replacement of the Green Card issue..
or any other visa/permission.

You will be better off
getting a replacement Passport in the USA (won't be instant, they come from UK)
getting your green card replaced (after that..) takes weeks (many)
or
Start looking how you mis-placed all of those..
or does lost mean destroyed.... ??

replace a passport abroad

And if you do report it lost.. .and find it, tough... it's been marked dead.
