No they do not. The job position is for a RN, there are no additional pay for sex. Pay within the RN level depends on experience for the most part, location such as critical care may add a bit more. When you apply for RN positions they don't even know the sex.

Not where I used to work
Salary was based on
1) The job
2) Experience
3) Senority

This is a loaded question.
Medical salaries are based on multiples such as facility funding, location, education, and experience.
Knee jerk numbers indicate male nurses upon graduation may be paid more than the girls.
But that scale fails to mention what type of education we are talking about.
Many states offer two year and four year degrees as access to RN status.
Males have more of a tendency to elect the 4 year degrees.
Males also are more likely to take advanced specialty training such as psyche, OR, have a coupling certificate or degree in a related field like OT as I do.
So the comparisons are difficult.

What I was unable to discover is which gender is more in demand.
You would think males but I personally don't think so.
Some surveys suggest both genders prefer female medical personnel including MDs.
I really think in many cases women have an advantage getting hired over men, but nothing empirical about it.

No, paying a person more because of what gender they are is and has been illegal since the 1960's. Companies and institutions can get into a world of trouble if it is found that they are doing that.

If a male nurse is making more than his female counterpart it is because of performance and/or experience and seniority.

You get out what you put in. Men often earn more because they undertake more training, and work more hours per year.

Yes, men are still outpacing women in salary even when they first graduate from school, let alone after they have been climbing the ranks for a while.
