Is my friend talking/acting like he's better than me?

My friend constantly mentions about "maintaining my car" and how he fixes everything in his car and that's why there's no problems with it and I should do the same knowing I'm in a really tough financial state.. he constantly talks about the things he does to his car.. he will flip out if i touch anything in the car, he will use examples of " I do this to my car and that's why I don't have that problem" and then go back to how I didnt do that and that's why my car doesn't run really good. It seems like every time I hang out with him he has something to say about my car... It's starting to annoy me... What do you think of the situation??? Is he talking like he's better than me or trying to be helpful
