N₂O₅ is the acid anhydride of nitric acid. Therefore, N₂O₅ undergoes neutralization with OH⁻ ions to give nitrate ions and water.
N₂O₅ + 2 OH⁻ → 2 NO₃⁻ + H₂O
N₂O₅ + 2 OH⁻ → 2 NO₃⁻ + H₂O
