I know I'm highly sensitive and everything but my procedure was last Thursday and it's Sunday and I'm still worn out.
Serious answers please

I think it took about 3 days for me, but that was a few years ago so I am not positive

I've had several and was back to work the next day. The prep is the worst part, not the procedure.

the colonoscopy itself didn't take any recovery. i wasn't sore, and i had no other problems at all.

the worst part was the preparation -- having to fast the day before, and drinking that AWFUL liquid that you drink to purge your colon before the procedure. that stuff kept me up all night long, so i didn't get any sleep at all. it also made me throw up, so some of the liquid was wasted.

Uh, 20 minutes after my husband was released we were in a restaurant eating. He even had some polyps removed. I'm guessing you're a wimpy guy

I "recovered" from my colonoscopy as soon as the sedative I had been given beforehand wore off. I left the doctor's office and went shopping for the rest of the afternoon. The following day, I went back to work.
A colonoscopy is not a serious procedure and it's not painful. It takes only about 20 minutes, and you're asleep through the whole thing.
The worse thing about it is that God-awful stuff you have to drink the day before, to clean out your colon.

12 hours.

Colonoscopy is NOT a serious procedure, and is not painful. it takes one day to prepare (take the laxative), about 20 minutes to do the colonoscopy, and about two hour before they send you home. if they do the procedure in the morning (most internists do) then you can go back to work or school the next day.

You are "worn out" becasue youi are playing the "Pity PArty Game". Take a nap, and get a good nights sleep, and stop expecting people to pity you.

Recover? There was no recovery time.. The next day I was back to normal. Unless you have a lot of pollyps perhaps?

Whatever it is it takes less time to recover than not having one and finding out you have colon cancer which has metastasized and there is nothing you can do about it.

The discomfort should only last 12-24 hours.
