other與another用法問題?

在another這個字之前，不能放the, no, any, some。
請參見《新世紀英漢辭典》p.52 another解釋1-(2)
所以會用不同的寫法：
..., but there isn't another way ....
= ..., but there is no other way ....

原因可能是：another是中古英文裡由an與other所構成的字。
但other之前，可放the, some, no, any, one等字《新世紀英漢辭典》p.925 other解釋1

This traffic jam is annoying, but there is *no other road to the city from here.

另例：It is just as well that you took another road.
還好你們走了另一條路。

【 other 】其他的人、物 或事。後面可接 可數的 複數名詞 or 不可數名詞···（ 其他的; 另外的；另一個；另一邊 ）

例：Problems always lead to other problems.
有些問題總是連帶著另外的問題。

該用 no other.
你對other 及another 之字義了解不足.
Other – 與目前不同之第二個(可為複數 - 常被翻譯為其他的).
Another – 相同的性質 – 的第二個(常被翻譯為另外一個或另外的).
此句中，除了現有道路(塞車的路)，無第二條(不塞車的路)路，故用 no other.

Another:
additional one more person or thing of the same type
I’m going to have another cup of coffee.
There’ll be another bus along in a few minutes.
Other:
the second of two used to refer to the second of two people or things, which is not the one you already have or the one you have already mentioned
I can’t find my other shoe.
One man was arrested, but the other one got away.
