Water has a higher boiling point and intermolecular forces than ammonia.

The intermolecular forces of both water and ammonia are hydrogen bonds. Average speaking, each water molecule has 2 hydrogen bonds (4 hydrogen bonds shared by 2 water molecules), while each ammonia molecule has 1 hydrogen bond only (2 hydrogen bonds shared by 2 ammonia molecules).

As the strength of O….H hydrogen bond is comparable to that of N….H hydrogen bond, water has a higher boiling point and intermolecular forces than ammonia because the number of hydrogen bonds for each water molecule is doubled that for each ammonia molecule.
