The balanced equation for the decomposition of H₂O₂ to give O₂ :
2H₂O₂(aq) → 2H₂O(l) + O₂(g)
2 moles of H₂O₂ decomposes to give 1 mole of O₂.

No. of moles of O₂ produced = 4 mol
No. of moles of H₂O₂ needed = (4 mol) × 2 = 8 mol
