How do I do this one?

CaO, quicklime, is commercially prepared by thermally decomposing calcium carbonate. Calculate the volume of CO2 produced when 132.3 g of calcium carbonate is decomposed then the collected gas is measured at 29.2 °C and 665.1 torr.
CaCO3(s) → CaO(s) + CO2(g)

✔ 最佳答案
CaCO₃(s) → CaO(s) + CO₂(g)
Mole ratio CaCO₃ : CO₂ = 1 : 1
No. of moles of CaCO₃ = 1.322 mol

Consider the CO₂ gas produced :
Pressure, P = 665.1/760.0 atm
Temperature, T = (273.2 + 29.2) K = 302.4 K
No. of moles, n = 1.322 mol

Gas law : PV = nRT
Then, V = nRT/P

Volume of CO₂ produced, V = 1.322 × 0.08206 × 302.4 / (665.1/760.0) L = 37.49 L
