If the heat of combustion for a specific compound is -1230.0 kJ/mol and its molar mass is 32.71 g/mol, how many grams of this compound must you burn to release 923.10 kJ of heat?

Burning of 32.71 g of the compound gives 1230.0 kJ of heat.
Hence, burning 32.71/1230.0 g of the compound gives 1 kJ of heat.

Mass of the compound releasing 923.10 kJ when burnt
= (32.71/1230.0 g/kJ) × (923.10 kJ)
= 24.55 g
