How many pages do I have to write for my assignment?

My professor wrote "no longer than 2 pages, no shorter than 1." Does that mean I have to write 2 pages? or is it okay to write 1 full page? Do you think I should write 2 pages to be on the safe side?

It means you MUST write one page, but you MAY write two pages. You may NOT write only 1/2 page, and you may not write only 2 1/2 pages. You MAY write:
1 page
1 1/3 page
1 1/2 pages
1 3/4 pages
2 pages
but no more than tht

You could probably do one and a half pages. But I'd go for 2.
