Got email stating had asked to close my account, I didn t. Said if receiving in error then should press on link . Is this from Yahoo or not?

i wouldnt press on the link, sounds like someone is doing that just so they can hack into your acct, so i suggest you dont click on the link

That is a phishing scam. Ignore and delete it.

As others say it's very likely to be a scam. Delete it and don't click on anything is standard advice.
