Molar mass of CaCl₂•2H₂O = (40.1 + 35.5×2 + 1.0×4 + 16.0×2) g/mol = 147.1 g/mol

Mass of CaCl₂•2H₂O needed = (0.001 mol) × (147.1 g/mol) = 0.147 mol (to 3 sig. fig.)

(0.001 mol CaCl2) x (1 mol CaCl2 * 2H2O / 1 mol CaCl2) x (147.0146 g CaCl2 * 2H2O/mol) =
0.147 g CaCl2 * 2H2O
