Why not become religious?

By Pascal's wager, there isn't a benefit of being atheist. However, even if you become religious, there at least a chance of being saved. Compare this to a free lottery, one ticket per person. There is no logical reason for you to not scratch the ticket at all (except if you lose some time).
But if you win, the rewards are great.

By Pascal's wager, you are still gambling... because you might be worshipping the wrong God, or a false messiah.

So you are also taking a risk.

By Pascal's logic we should all be polytheistic Pagans and worship multiple Gods... better odds.

Of course the biggest flaw in Pascal's wager is that belief is not a choice.

Why would I waste time lying to myself and pretending to believe in something that's clearly nonsense?

Pascal's wager makes God look like a gullible idiot

To accept a religious doctrine as a hedge against being incorrect is not an actual belief which makes any veiled attempt at fending off an eternity of damnation impossible to avoid.

Over a lifetime, religion is much more costly than a single lottery ticket. However, if I offered you a single lottery ticket that was guaranteed to payoff millions of dollars to your fifth generation descendants after you die...would you buy it?...of course you can't know it's true cause you'll be dead. Further, if I can find a million people with enough faith to believe me, then I'll be a millionaire in this life having disappointed no one. Religion is the greatest scam humanity has every played on itself, the worst part being that the perpetrators, believers and victims are generally one in the same....indoctrination feeding delusion and delusion feeding indoctrination.

Not really logical. The burdens religion places on one's mind is not worth the hassle to risk the "wager" you propose. When I was a very devout christian as a young teen I was miserable and in anguish all the time about sinning and not being a good enough christian. When I finally awoke and realized it was all false, I felt like a new person, that huge burden was lifted from my shoulders and all that christian-based guilt was gone. So no, I would not take that wager. It isn't as simplistic as you propose. To me living as a Christian would be hell on earth, it certainly was when I was one.

Your first statement is wrong. There is so much benefit to being atheist that only an atheist can appreciate it. The rest of your statement is baloney.

How do I do this for all religions? If I convert to them all, well, if I am both a Muslim and a Christian, Allah would send me to hell for being a Christian and the Christian God would send me to hell for being a Muslim.

The problem with that is... there is a real and tangible reward for very little effort for a lottery ticket. Most religions require real effort for no reward that anyone can see in this life.

Your Pascal’s wager matrix is interesting.... why would only one be right and all of the others wrong... vs every one of them being wrong.

Because Pascal is long dead, and knew a lot less than we do know. All gods are man made, there is no hell nor heaven and ruining your one and only life because of empty promises is completely silly.
