A compound noun is a two words compounded into a single word,not a pronoun, which can function as the subject or object of a verb, or the object of a preposition; words which is marked nn--n in the dictionary are compounds. In grammar, it is item composed of two or more parts, written as one or two words, joined by a hyphen themselves to become a word.
