Neither, do yourself a favor and don't become a truck driver.

If you go to their school they also give you a job. If you pay for your own school, you will have a harder time getting a job.

Go to school on your own. At least you will have your CDL. And trucking companies will reimburse your tuition any way. The company route is all in the company s favor. The washout rate is high. Actually you are going to their school and you are getting a loan from them. Even if you pass they will find a reason to lay you off and get another sucker.

get the company to pay for your trading then they will be more willing to get you the job and keep you on. Training schools do not promise a job

over the road trucking It is lousy job, pay is very low and hours long. bad for your health. Truck driving schools are typically not very good and when you done, you still are not a good driver. So the companies know they will still have to train you. But if you can get a Gov grant to pay for it, take the school. A lot of people got their CDL that way. If not, go with a co that will train you. But some people like it , most do not. But it is better than being broke.

Going to a trucking school usually offers "free" training in which you agree to a 1 - 2 year contract with them. Deductions will be taken out of your checks each week to pay for the training. Straight up joining a company usually requires you to have your CDL already.
