How to actually meet a breeder?
I've been in contact with a rat breeder for a month now, she said she would email me when the litter has arrived, but I emailed her yesterday and it turns out they are already available for adoption, so she must of forgot to email me in advance. It's my first time with a breeder and i'm not sure how i'm suppose to talk to them, the one i've chosen is quite blunt and I feel awkward asking this stranger where her house is etc. I've asked her when is best for her, and she'll reply but I have a feeling she won't get straight to the point and tell me her address etc. I'll most likely have to ask, and please tell me how to do that without sounding weird?

So just ask where you can meet to buy the rat from her. Many people aren't comfortable having strangers come to their house. She and you can meet at a mutually agreed upon place.
Ask her to meet up with you in a parking lot somewhere, bring the litter of rats in a secure box, and you pick out the one you want after looking them over. It isn't brain surgery.
This breeder isn't who you want to buy from- I am speaking from dog breeding experience, but any person who is raising something should be willing to speak to you in person before the whatevers are available for sale.
Look for your local rat club and see what they have going. It sounds as if this person is in it more to make money than to spread knowledge. Don't feel as if you need to take them the witch's broomstick, just find someone who is more willing to share what they know, and support you and your new pet.
