Why do I have a hard time remembering what i read?

Today my teacher had me study some notes for what I was going to write my essay on, I studied for an hour and as soon as he took the notes away I couldn't remember anything at all I didn't even remember what I was writing about.

For as long as I can remember I've always had a hard time remembering what i read I can read a page over and over and I won't remember anything.

I don't know if this has anything to do with It but... I also struggle with like putting my thoughts on a paper. Like I can have a sentence in my head but I can't put it on paper I just can't.

Some body please help me

How is your physical health? There are several reasons for this question and a lot involves the neurology of your brain. The first time you read any type of writing the information must enter the "short term memory" of your brain. After the short term then it will go to the long term memory. When short term is not completed then nothing will be accomplished. ....The "Ole Fogey" A.A., B.A., Psy.,Soc.

Because you need to do active reading. So you have to read and write down some key phrases or words that stand out in each paragraph. Then you only retain the first ten and last ten minutes of a study session so it's better to study for two lots of 20 minutes with a break rather than study for a whole straight hour
