Why do people say cancers are quiet and introverted when almost every cancer I know hangs with big groups of people ?

I am a Cancerian. I am super loud and crazy around the people I know for some time and I am very quiet and uncomfortable around the people I don't get along with or I don't know...

Because the guys act like that more than the girls. They're very homebody, more comfortable being at home by themselves. The men are usually shy, anti social and quiet in public. You won't see a cancer male drawing a whole lot of attention to himself in public or any at all. He'll be the one in the background.

The females are more social, but when they have their own family, they usually put their family first before anybody else, which can make them disconnect from friends.

I agree. The Cancer women I know are very social and outgoing.

They are quite and introverted... but towards people they don't know. I like cancers but I find them very cliquish and standoffish. That's for a good reason though...cancers like to trust the people/have a sincere bond with the people they immediately have around them. If you're friends with a cancer you're like they're family. I respect that.

I know right! Those cancer cells in my brain just love to socialize, man! They keep spreading and converting all of my other cells by force (especially the important ones) to cancer cells! Almost like Scientology! They also wont shut the hell up... i can hear their screams ever time i get chemo... I need help...

I don't and I'm a cancer.. but how are you going to meet a cancer who is at home being quiet? You arnt, so that's why the cancers you are meeting are those type. Plenty who stay home.

Because traditionally Cancer is represented by the crab. The crab is a non vocal animal ( it has no voice). Any sign of distress it retreats into its shell.

However though outwardly harmless and non threatening on the outside they may be, crabs are fiercely protective and territorial creatures. If they feel threatened, they use the pincers and cling on - the pincers are powerful and can cause pain.

Cancers in general ( much depends on their rising sign and Mercury) are shy and reserved, as they take time to trust people and to open up. They have, a fun and caring side, but to see that they must trust you and feel comfortable in your presence. They are not as outgoing and gregarious as say a Leo or Gemini may be, but they usually make good friends and even better family members.

No two Cancers are similar though ( aside from being devoted to their parents) I have two Cancer acquaintances. One’s a friend, another is a prof I am close to. My Cancer friend is friendly, outgoing and charming, working on her startup and looking after her family.

My prof on other hand would qualify more to the classical ‘’Cancerian’’ traits - she is very emotional, prone to moodiness, freely expresses it before her friends, is reserved and is very imaginative/creative . But both are delightful women in their own way.
