If I get accepted to a college but don't show up at the orientation and the semester is it ok for me to re-register in the summer or fall?

Being accepted is just the first of many steps. IF you have registered and enrolled (paid money and signed the enrollment documents committing yourself to attend) you must WITHDRAW officially from the university if you do not plan to attend. Otherwise, you are legally liable for ALL costs of that term and you will also officially fail and be dismissed.

If you have only be accepted and you have not done anything to enroll or register, your lack of response will be taken as your decision not to enroll. At that point, you would need to reapply for admission if you wanted to attend at a later time.

The smart thing for you to do is CALL the admissions office and ask if your enrollment can be deferred until the summer or fall term. Most universities will do that.

You can pre register for both the summer and the fall because you are already enrolled.. Whther or not you to freshaman orientation does not matter that much as long as you to GO TCLASS during the term you were accepted.. The only reasoin i tell incoming college frreshmen to go to freshman OR new student orientation is because you will be LESS CONFUSED on the first day of classes AT THAT COLLEGE OR SCHOOL. You do NOT HAVE to be freshman to be new student.. When pre regstration for the next term opens, youcan preregister fro classes for the next term, but you STILL HAVE to talk to an academic adviser or SHOULD talk to an academic adviser AND posibly a degree cooridnator as well.

Yes, it is OK NOT to go orientation. but it NOT OK, NOT TO GO TO CLASS. you might be dropped from the class automatically.

College is NOT like high school. No one calls the deans office to report you being absent from class in college.

The registrars office is NOT the place to call.

If you Don't show up during the semester at all, you may have to be re-admitted, you will NOT be able to preregister for the next term AT ALL. Because you NEVER ACTIVATED your college university email account. You don't have to physically present at classes. If the college or university computer does not recognize that YOU exist, you are not an enrolled student. Call or email the admissions office. Yes, i HAVE withdrawn for an ENTIRE semester BEFORE classes started one year because of major surgery, but i was already an enrolled student.

Call or email the admissions office, NOT the registrar's office.

Do not do that. Instead, contact the school well ahead of time and tell them you need to defer your admission by a semester or two. This has several benefits:

It opens up a place for someone else.
It means you do not have to apply all over again
It means you have something to look forward to.

If you do not show up, and do not arrange in advance to postpone admission to a later term, your place is given to someone else, and you are out. If you do not formally withdraw prior to registration (or arrange to postpone admission to a later term), don't be surprised if you are charged for the semester, either.

Start the application process over again - preferably elsewhere.

If you are accepted, but "don't show up," your place may be filled by someone who was on a "wait list." When you finally do show up to register, you might discover that you are no longer admitted, and you have to apply for admission all over again. Talk to someone in the admissions office or the registrar's office and find out how long an "admission" remains in effect.

You may have to reapply; check with the registrar's office.

Yea. It's OK.
