Does anyone else get annoyed with their coworkers at lunch?
I work at a school where we all eat lunch in the teachers lounge. I have coworkers that must ask you, every time you have something new for lunch, what it is and where you bought it. Some of them also stare at me and everyone else when we are eating. It's super annoying!

The best thing you can do is to ignore co-workers. I've had a million jobs and I know.
Perhaps they are trying to start a conversation with you, and food is seen by most normal people as a safe opener. Looking at your post, I think you may have some issues to deal with regarding your own perception of the world
Just go to your car or a park to eat.
There is no obligation for you to engage with your co-workers given you find their behavior annoying. And if necessary, ask your co-workers to refrain from commenting on your lunch and staring at you. Do what is right for you.
Bring something rather yucky to some people's taste, and offer the nosy coworkers a sample of it. Some ethnic foods, such as Indian curries, are a real acquired taste.
Yes. That's why I go out for lunch. Yes it costs money but my lunch time is my time to recharge to get through the rest of the day and I want to enjoy it.
You must have nosy coworkers, mine barely talk at lunch, they stare at their phones..
You have issues..who cares? Just say “ I have ...” and leave it at that, if they stare, politely (don’t be rude) ask if there is “ anything wrong, you are staring” that will embarass them..
They are being social/conversing..at least they talk to you.
youre probably not the only one that gets annoyed, maybe theyre just asking about the food just to make conversation, maybe you should talk to them , they might be staring at you cause theyre waiting for you to talk to them
Conversation starters. What’s the matter, it wasn’t on your syllabus?
I know, right? Regular conversation is so annoying, or whatever.
