I am leaving the company i work for.I have another job where i can actually grow.

while i have been working here my manger has asked me quite a few times how long it takes me to do each task,as i cant give her an estimate because it changes every time. Now that I am leaving I am typing out a job description for her so she can post it online. She asks me again how long it takes me to do them and if there were days that i had nothing to do.(which there was) but i was busy mostly.

I do not understand why she want to know how long it takes me to do each task.

She's trying to determine where you spend the most time so when she posts the job, she can set an accurate pay scale. She's also probably trying to figure out if you might have had enough time when you were doing nothing to add some duties to the new job description.

They always ask that. Pick one specific way (indicate which it is, and that there are other changes that may take longer) and detail that one specific task.

She is trying to determine home much time it actually takes to do the tasks related to the job. You say there were days when you had nothing to do, so maybe this could be a part time position, or maybe the position can be given more responsibilities. It's the job of the manager to always be sure that staff is being used effectively.
