Is there any way I could grow my hair to my waist I'm 32 my hair is a little past my neck I also want a straight perm it"s very curly. I don't want any comments to advise me not to get it waist length hair and straight hair is what I always wanted. I know someone who straightened her hair permanently. I know waist length hair will take a long while I wasn't pleased with the last salon I went to. Maybe I could call a few hair salons to see how much it will cost to straighten it. I did some research there are hair straighteners that do less damage maybe I can try it once or twice a week.

You can't straighten your hair permanently, because the new hair that grows in hasn't been treated. You need to treat all the new hair as it grows in, and then re-treat the older hair as the treatment fades. Hair will grow about a half inch per month, but trimming the split ends, and breakage, will slow that down.

It takes about a month to grow hair by 1". However, most people have a natural length that their hair goes to, it's not just a matter of not cutting it.

You can't straighten your hair "permanently" as it will grow out. You can get it straightened so that the hair that you have now stays straight. I recommend the Brazillian method. It takes hours and it's very expensive but it works. However, all new growth will be very curly, so you have to be committed to getting it redone as often as they recommend. You won't have to do it every week, but it might be every few weeks or a couple of months.

Your hair will also seem longer if you straighten it.

BTW, waist-length hair is very heavy. It's also hard to sleep in.

You might try wearing a wig for a week or two and see if you really want to do this.
