Can a creditor report an old debt to the 3 bureaus?
I recently called and paid off all things on my credit report so I could buy my house two new accounts hit which total $500 which I have no problem paying I got a call this morning about a 2015 and a 2013 debt [totalling 1700] in which they threatened to report the debt to my credit reports. I never received any calls about those debts until the new ones came in. So after almost 3 and 5 years can they still report these to my bureaus?

Negative accounts can be reported up to 7 years after default. That means they can be reported up until 2020 and 2022 respectively.
Absolutely, some creditors don't bother because they think you will never pay anyways.
As soon as there is "action" that would require payment, like a mortgage inquiry = BAM, all the creditors you screwed come out of the wood work.
They can wait up to 6 years & then report..
If in fact they are your debts, yes they can.
Yes, they can report it to all 3 credit bureaus. It stays on your credit report for seven years. For some reason things like this happens when trying to purchase a home-it's as if your creditors know you're trying to buy a home and they start hitting you with old debts.
Yes.
Those are not "old".
By law, they must be allowed to report it until it is 7 or 7 1/2 years old.
That means that the law allows them to keep reporting both debts until at least 2020.
In addition, because you called, they can do almost anything, because they can lie and say that you gave them permission to do whatever they want. The only way to keep them from saying that you gave them permission to do whatever they want when you call is ... don't call them, not ever.
