2C2H4(g)+2O3(g)->4CH2O(g)+O2(g) given the data below what is the rate law reaction (in description, checking my answer)?

2017-10-02 12:22 am
[O3]0 [C2H4]0 mol*L^-1*sec^-1
Experiment 1: .50x10^-7, 1.0x10^-8, 1.0x10^-12
Experiment 2: 1.5x10^-7, 1.0x10^-8, 3.0x10^12
Experiment 3 1.5x10^-7, 2.0x10^-8,1.2x10^-11

I got that it would be rate=K[O3][C2H4]

✔ 最佳答案
2C₂H₄(g) + 2O₃(g) → 4CH₂O(g) + O₂(g)
Rate law equation: Rate = k [O₃]ᵃ [C₂H₄]ᵇ

Substitute the experimental data into the rate law equation:
1.0 × 10⁻¹² = k × (0.50 × 10⁻⁷)ᵃ × (1.0 × 10⁻⁸)ᵇ …… [1]
3.0 × 10⁻¹² = k × (1.50 × 10⁻⁷)ᵃ × (1.0 × 10⁻⁸)ᵇ…… [2]
1.2 × 10⁻¹¹ = k × (1.50 × 10⁻⁷)ᵃ × (1.50 × 10⁻⁷)ᵇ …… [3]

[2]/[1] : 3 = 3ᵃ, and thus a = 1
[3]/[2]: 4 = 2ᵇ, and thus b = 2

The rate law equation: Rate = k [O₃] [C₂H₄]²
