Too many miles for a 6 year old car.

The power train only gets 3.5 out of 5 for reliability rating. The rest of the vehicle gets 4.5. Since the power train is the most costly to fix, I'd say no, especially if there aren't good maintenance records from new, it has had more than one owner, or if you cannot verify how conservatively it was driven. It would be safer to purchase a single-owner vehicle only driven by an older adult (45+). Anything driven be a teen or twenty-something or by multiple owners I'd steer clear of.

Not really.

Go to the library or call. They probably have a consumer reports annual car guide or the online equivalent and it will tell you exactly where it is and what the issues are. You probably need to be a member to use their online. I am but its such a pain that I don't do it. Its like 24 digit number and then remembering a password too.

Its probably poor but might be average. Its not reliable or good.
I think they use a 5 star rating for the car, its reliability, its overall cost and then it also rates each component.

I'm thinking its a 2 or 3 at best. And reliable is usually 4 or 5.

The miles will save you thousands but its not a great car.

That is why the owner is selling it. It already has too many miles on it and they are bailing from it before it starts to fall apart! A Honda or Toyota with that kind of mileage is just starting to break in, but unfortunately, a Chevy motor with that kind of mileage means that it is just about DONE!

2012 was a good year sandwiched in between some bad years - see the source. Most of the complaints on the top complaint category were for blinking engine lights, which are misfire problems that are almost always related to the ignition. Compare that with 2010, when the engine problems prominently featured timing chain wear.

As with all used cars, when you get serious about it pay your mechanic about $100 for a pre-purchase inspection before committing to anything. If that is good and the dipstick does not have a bunch of varnish above the full line (indicating conventional oil was used instead of the mandatory dexos 1 oil) it should be good. At 134K miles it is hard to hide how it has been treated. I never look at Carfax, either - it is very unreliable.
