Advice for social anxiety fast food worker?
I just recently got a job at a fast food joint as a cashier. The first day there I was thrown on the register during a rush hour. I'm so stressed and anxious and really not wanting to go back there for another 8-9 hour shift. My throat tightens up when talking to customers and I feel like crying or running away. Is there any advice I can use to help with this?

You should see your doctor and get some help for your anxiety.
If you got any training before you went on the register then you weren't thrown on it, you should have picked up a few things from your training.
You can't run away and cry in front of customers, that makes you look childish and immature.
If you think you can't do the job then find another job and quit.
Ask to work in the back, making food.
You'll just have to get used to it.
Remember how bored other fast food cashiers are? Just think of that and go back to work.
Everybody has that anxiety, some more than others. Watch how the boss handles things, emulate (their) methods. Be deliberately happy with each customer, try to make their day. You are the best cashier they've ever had, if not now, you will be.
I'm lucky, I work on the grill. The best advice I can give is 1. Don't over think things or even think about work until your there. 2. Don't give a crap what anyone thinks because they don't matter, the $ does
