Can people with spinal disability engage in sex?

Sorry if this is offensive to anyone with such spinal issues, but I saw a debate on a IMDB review about whether a character paralysed with polio could have had as active as sex life as in the film.

更新1:

It was 'Hyde Park on Hudson' (2012) about President F. D. Roosevelt's affairs. Someone in the comments just doubted that someone with polio could even have sex.

Are you referring to the movie, Theory of Everything?
I imagine he just lay there.
