The length of a rectangle is 5 cm longer than twice the width.

L = 2W + 5

The perimeter of the rectangle is 88 cm

2L + 2W = 88
L + W = 44
(2W + 5) + W = 44
3W + 5 = 44
3W = 39
W = 13

L = 2(13) + 5
L = 31

Width is 13 cm
