Do people naturally become bitter, angry and jealous as they get older?

I surely hope not. I'm 29 and still the happy, hopeful person I was at age 6.

I mean, when life events happens like the death of a loved one, or suddenly "too old" to wear certain clothes - does this make people naturally bitter, angrier and jealous?

Again I hope this is not true. I don't want to leave my 20s when I turn 30 next year and spent the rest of my life in mental torture.

I'm 71 years old and life has given some bad blows in the last 10 years, I lost my wife to cancer after a prolonged fight, I was dispossessed of my house and all my properties, because of all the medical debts we incurred.
Now I dont really have anything, I have a rented apartment and my bicycle, but I am not bitter about it I had a wild rollercoaster ride in my middle years, worked all over Asia, made and lost lots of money. It is just how life is. at least I still have my health.

Some do, others don't. News flash, son, everyone is different. I really hope that at age 29 that's not coming as a surprise to you.

In psychology Ericson describes this state as.8th phase. People 65+ years old look at the life they lived and if they are satisfied tey focus on passing on the wisdom they have gathered over the years. If the arent they become bitter and angry. The way to deal with that is to ahow them they did a good work and that they are needed even in that age.
