Is it bad to sleep upright?
For example, sleeping sitting upright in a chair

Occasionally, no. And certain people with certain medical conditions are required to sleep in an upright position. However, unless there is a medical reason to make reclining dangerous, lying down is a more beneficial position as it rests your heart better. (doesn't have to work against gravity) and rests your lower extremities better ( blood tends to pool there during the day, lying down eases swelling)
Not necessarily but you might wake up with a stiff neck if it is not supported well. It's more a matter of comfort than health as far as I'm concerned.
I think that it is probably not a good idea as our feet would not get any rest if we had our weight on them even whilst sleeping.
Hope not...do it all the time in front of the TV.
The best way to get rid of it meditation
It's probably only ok for people who are worried they'll have a heart attack in their sleep, because it's been proven that your more likely to survive if your not lying down flat. For anyone else though, it's better if your whole body and head and neck are supported, to get the best rested sleep!
