Alcohol won't stop rabies. Rabies shots last far longer than the one or three years indicated, anyway.

Other than that there's no disease a dog is going to pass by biting. What DOES get passed is bacteria pushed into your body by the teeth.

If the area is hot to the touch and is hurting, it's infected with bacteria. You may need an antibiotic shot.

why did you want to put alcohol on the dog ?

Like the other 'core' vaccines, rabies will most probably last for 3 years much as legally most countries require this to be boostered annually. Alcohol won't protect you (assuming you mean you, and not the dog!) in any case even if the were rabid. And he'd have to have been bitten by another rabid animal in any case.
