Examples:
The volunteers were shocked at the city council's apparent indifference to the homeless problem/
Although Tom's mother knew that his apathy was the result of years of drug abuse, it was still hard for her to accept /雖然Tom的母親知道他的冷漠無感是多年濫用藥物的後遺症,她還是很難接受這事實.

Q. Apathy and Indifference?
Is there a difference between the two?
A. Both words imply a lack of feeling. "Indifference" denotes an absence of
feeling, concern, or interest, whereas "apathy" implies a more profound
intellectual and emotional indifference suggestive of faculties either
naturally sluggish or dulled by emotional disturbance, mental illness, or
prolonged sickness.
"Apathy" is more similar to numbness or a lack of spirit.
Indifference:-n.--to, towards
eg:-He treats her with complete indifference.
Indifferent-adj---(to, towards)---not interested in, not caring about or noticing不關心的;
His manner was cold and indifferent.
I am so excited to see snow here that I am indifferent to the cold..
Her manner was cold and indifferent.
Was it good, bad, or indifferent ?
-------------------------------------------
apathy:-n,--lack of interest or strong feelings about something or everything---unwillingness or inability to act or take an active interest漠然,冷谈;無興趣;無勳於衷;
eg:-We lost the election because of the apathy of our supportersHK.
eg:-I was sunk in apathy after my apathy failure.
