A block of wood 3cm on each side has a mass of 27g. What is the density of the block? ( Hint: Don't forget to find the volume of the wood. )?
回答 (4)
Volume of the wood
= (3 cm)³
= 27 cm³
Density of the wood
= Mass / Volume
= (27 g) / (27 cm³)
= 1 g/cm³
Density = Mass ÷ Volume
V = 3 * 3 * 3 = 27 cm^3
Density = 27 ÷ 27 = 1 g/cm^3
This is the same as the density of water. Most wood is less dense than water. That is logs will float in a lake or river.
The density is one gram per cubic centimeter.
(The specific gravity is 1.)
