Lynch has said he's done that his whole career. but, in the Super Bowl he's played in a couple years ago, there are pictures of him standing. he's obviously lying and doing it as a "protest" now the media will focus on him each week like they did with Kaepernick and others "protesting". it's tasteless and idiotic.
"[Lynch] said, 'This is something I've done for 11 years. It's not a form of anything other than me being myself,'" Del Rio said. "I said, 'So you understand how I feel. I very strongly believe in standing for the national anthem, but I'm going to respect you as a man. You do your thing, and we'll do ours.' So that's a non-issue for me."
Photos circulated on social media Sunday showing Lynch standing for the anthem during his Seahawks days, including for Super Bowl XLIX.

This is such a non-issue that it's cringeworthy to hear people try to make it one.
No. They should just ignore it. I'd like it more if he stayed in the tunnel until after the anthem.
No.
He is within his rights as a US citizen and as long as there is nothing in his contract about such actions he is within his legal rights as an employee of the Oakland Raiders.
Don't get your panties in a bunch over a lullaby.
If the media would ignore the boy he'd go back to trying to act like a human being.
Why? It's not against the rules. It's against the rules in the NBA and maybe other leagues. But as long as there is no rule against it, him and others don't deserve punishment.
Maybe also be a little more open minded and learn a little about why he is doing what he is doing. Maybe more research than the basic information news sources give you.
If you still don't like it, that's your opinion and nothing wrong with it.
You voted for Trump just like Lonesome Rhodes did. Lonesome Rhodes thinks conservative Republicans created the retirement plan of 20 and out, the medical insurance he received while employed, and Medicare.
Stop acknowledging this behavior.
No, he has the right to protest any way he wants. BUT, I think that if you can't "voice" your opinion without disrespect then you are not mature enough to represent a team. That is the teams decision if that's the type of representative they want.
No. He's a big fellow - he can suffer the consequences of his actions. Right now, about the worst he could get would be to be traded to Cleveland.
No they should not, Lynch has said, this is something he has done for 11 years. It's not a form of anything other than me being myself, so I think they knew he was going to do it and had no issue with it.
Of course not.
Mark Davis should hire Colin Kaepernick, too...he'd be cheap, and a valuable addition to the team....free publicity never hurt anyone!
I believe they better ignore it.
I thonk most people are over this stuff. Let the guy play. I didn't care when Kap did it. If we would of ignored it it would have went away sooner.
Yes. Totally disgusting to not respect our Flag.
At least you stopped asking Q's about Colon!
Suspend? No, that would be ridiculous.
Fine him? Yes, most definitely. Every team should fine their players for this disgusting act.
It's not about the NFL. Please do what you have to do to express yourself. your family, your beliefs. You play for the NFL, it is a business, you have a contract. Honor it.
Yes, we don t need such people who hate our country. Let them go to Africa. I ll boycott any team that allows such traitors to be paid millions of dollars and not appreciate that and the other perks of living here. I have freedom to refuse to look at such offensive clowns.
I think we have Colin Kaepernick to blame for causing the whole controversy from last year. Marshawn Lynch was retired at the time when Kap did it. I say Marshawn Lynch will still have a much better NFL career than Colin Kaepernick because Lynch had rumors of bad behavior in Buffalo before turning his career around in Seattle and now he's on Oakland.
i think they should get a warning and the nfl should set up a course offering the players a sense of what sports are and what politics are. by expressing your opinions on nfl time is not good for the nfl. if you disagree with something you go to the players union. you do not sit during the anthem because you disagree with someone, you go out and join a political party.
They can, but they shouldn't.
The league should not suspend him. But, everyone should be able to criticize his and the others who make this decision (which I often do) without being called a Nazi or racist.
I don't care, it's up to the team owner
what's the big deal here? He can do whatever he wants, I don;t care about him one way or another about if he stands or not. I think people are making such a big deal about nothing. As for him at the Superbowl that's more of important game so he would. Now if he was wearing at hat or making a scene, disrupting things then yes.
They should but it might l hurt him when he renegotiates his salary at the end of his contract
The Oakland Raiders should suspend Marshawn Lynch after they win Superbowl LII.
YES. Show some simple respect. If you can't, you don't ahve to play - it's America, it's a free country. Quit football and go sit down where ever you want.
Hell, he can shoot the finger at you and you will cite statistics and watch to little game.
