What a ridiculous saying, I don’t agree.
I’m a Taiwanese, all the world sees us as Chinese people.
Even though we are not as rich as most Western countries people. We know we should behave well before we can be respected.
I’m a retired civil servant, but I still learn English as my hobby. And I hope what you heard is a singular case, even though I’m not a Chinese citizen, but I do hope we will see China as well of Taiwan’s progress in every fields.
